We confirmed that Cat is in Belize

Hi, we had an email from Pete (see below) but were able to text with Cat on Facebook to be sure it was her and she is OK.

She has updated her own Facebook page if you are on there.

Peter emailed the Missing Person's email... Still nothing directly from Cat

Cat is with me and is fine. She is sitting with me in an internet cafe. I have tried to get her to mail you before or to get contact details so i could do so but with no success. Actually today she agreed she would do so.

Anyway, we have been travelling together in my R.V.for the last 5 or 6 weeks approximately, around Guatamala & last night we crossed into Belize.

Our intention at the moment is to spend a month in Belize before returning into Guatamala then onto Honduras & further south. i / we would like to find a spiritual community to stay at for a while which i feel will help us both on our "healing journies".

Please don't worry, Cat is fine. We are now in Belize. Despite what the mainstream media might have you believe Christopher, Guatamala, Mexico, Belize etc. are beautiful safe countries to live & travel in. More pic's to follow soon

Update 8/26

We received a lead on the man named Peter and are trying to reach him now.

(Any information we have on him has been shared with authorities)

We are fairly certain that Cat did make it to Guatemala.

Last seen (presumably with Peter) on August 8th

Focus on Mazunte (again)

We have not had any tips from Guatemala yet so we are focusing back on Mazunte.

The last information we have is from a woman named Laura from Posada del Arquitecto in Mazunte. We have reached out to her again with these questions.

We are asking you too! What do you know?

Cat was hanging out with an American guy for a few weeks (Late June/early July).

We think his name is Peter and he drove a van.

Posada del Arquitecto has a Facebook page - maybe someone on there saw them?

Someone in Mazunte must have seen them.

Who is Peter?

What does the van look like? It is a US or Mexican vehicle?

Are there any photos that may lead us to more information in Mazunte?

Overall Update on Cat's Whereabouts

Thank you for your interest in helping us find Cat Waller.

Here is what we know:

1. She was last in phone contact and on Facebook around July 7.

2. She was last in Mazunte and left that area by July 23 - last seen a few days earlier so we are saying July 20.

3. She was with an American named Peter, leaving in a VAN.

4. There was some chatter that he was working on visas, which suggests Guatemala.

5. They said they were leaving for "Guatemala or the US" - a little vague.

6. Until this time she was in some form of regular contact with friends on Facebook.

Prior to this, here is what we also know:

-She arrived in Mexico at the San Diego border around February 20 via motorcycle.

-She was in Tulum in May, and was heading there in June for a friend's father's funeral.

-She was in Puerto Escondido and bounced between there and Mazunte - both in Oaxaca.

-She had a laptop with her.

-She used Internet cafes to check in.

-We have tracked down all latest friends/photos on Facebook but if you have anything you have gathered, send it our way.

-We have been in touch with Osa Mariposa - not the last place she was, but they are helpful.

-Her visa was expiring.

-A missing persons report is on file.

-The US Embassy in Mexico and Guatemala have been contacted.

Guatemala Lead Update

We had a lead that Cat may head to "Lake Atitlan" and an area known for Maya Astronomy. A comment this morning led us to "Las Piramides" as a possible destination or the San Marcos area. She is not at "Las Piramides". We have asked them to share our flyer in that area.

This is just one lead. We are not certain she is in Guatemala, but it is something we are running down.

New lead: possible Guatemala destination

Someone who met Cat earlier in her travels - in May - says that Cat wanted to meet a woman who lives in Guatemala at Lake Atitlan. She was some kind of astronomer.

Cat met this woman at a hostel - El Rincon de Los Camellos in San Cristobal de las Casas.

It sounds like the Guatemalan woman was a regular guest at that hostel.

Can someone translate this on the blog? We will work to contact the hostel.

We have several networks in Guatemala posting her information - we will pass this along.

We have also contacted the US Embassy in Guatemala and will add this to their information.
